Norway

We took a 3 week trip to Norway June 2024.  It's a very beautiful place to visit.  I am posting pictures, video, and information on this blog - we saw many things on the trip so it might be a while until I finish putting things here.  I brought my fiddle along on the trip and played it in many amazing places!

Pulpit Rock

Preikestolen - Pulpit Rock Hike Norway

Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock) stands 604 metres (1981 feet) above the Lysefjord. The hike to Pulpit Rock is one of Norway's most famous mountain hikes. The Preikestolen hike is very popular with more than 300,000 nature-loving hikers visiting the famous rock formation every year.

The hike to Preikestolen is a total of eight kilometres (5 miles). The roundtrip takes about four to five hours. The hike is listed as having an elevation gain of about 500 metres (1640 feet) - however, the elevation we climbed seemed like more and was more according to our phone - probably because there is quite a bit of up and down climbing.  Some sections are steep and rocky. The hike is graded as medium difficulty.

Feigefossen

Feigefossen Waterfall Norway

Feigefossen is the second highest waterfall in Norway

Feigefossen is by the Lusterfjord.

When you get to Skjolden, you must follow the narrow, "romantic road" along the southern shores of the Lusterfjord. You stop by the fjord where the Feigeelva river runs into the fjord and continue on foot up to the waterfall. The road is a very narrow one lane road that cars travel along in both directions - drive carefully!

Here is a video of Feigefossen:
